This year, we'll be creating the first square of our Riley Brothers' Party quilt. We'll have supplies in the office/study for you to use in communally designing a fabric foundation.

In the midst of the frivolity and frantic energy of the Holiday Hootenanny, we should take some time to reflect on the important moments of the past year as well as look to the future. In that spirit, we'd like you to add some notes to the Hoot Capsule. We'll have cards that you can fill out and drop in our box. We'll also be posting many of the card's from last year's Hoot Capsule.

Schnapped is a delightful bartending challenge with two rounds. In the first round, you will be given a variety of ingredients and 5 minutes to make a shot for the judges to sample. In the second round, you will be given a variety of ingredients and 5 minutes to make a drink for the judges to sample. Whoever wins will be celebrated at next year's Hootenanny, with their drink as the Signature Holiday Hootenanny drink. Make sure to sign up once arriving at the Hoot!

We'll rely on guest participation to create our very own Christmas pageant. After you arrive, you'll receive more details. In the meantime, we recommend practicing your Mad Libs skills.

This solemn event is a way to leave any unwanted thing behind this year. You'll have the chance to write down that thing (or things), share it with everyone (if you'd like to), and we'll burn it.

We'll have pizza - cheese and pepperoni - so please let us know if you have any dietary restrictions!

Knusper, knusper, knäuschen, wer knuspert an meinem Häuschen? Spend some time channeling your inner construction worker by building a gingerbread house. We'll supply the kit - you supply the architectural insight. Note: We won't be doing this in 2022.

To commemorate the Tenth Annual Holiday Hootenanny, we'll be constructing a Hoot Capsule to be opened in ten years. Because this is a special Hoot Capsule, we're asking each of you to bring some items to include: write a letter to yourself to be read in ten years; one other small item of your choosing.

Players sit in a circle with the dreidel in the center. Each person should have a beverage (with or without alcohol - safety is also the name of the game.) take turns spinning the dreidel and follow these rules:

• Shin (ש) - spinner drinks

• He (ה) - spinner picks someone to drink

• Nun (נ) - nothing happens

• Gimel (ג) - everyone but spinner drinks until the dreidel next falls

Bring a gift for the Hoot and leave it under the tree. During this time, you'll have the chance to pick a gift and open it. Pretty self-explanatory, isn't it?

To end the Hoot and send us off in good cheer, we'll sing a bunch of holiday songs. Most are well-known - but we encourage you to practice "This Year" before coming.
