The Open Pantry of Greater Lowell provides short-term food assistance to those in need who reside in the Greater Lowell area. The reasons for need are numerous, but for many persons it is a choice between food and heat or medications; it may be a delayed or stolen check or it could be an abandoned person who has no other means. While the reasons are varied, the needs are real.
Over 1,500 people are served each month.
More than 1/3 of those they help are children.
Assistance is offered to individuals and families without any discrimination based on race, creed, or country of origin.
